About Shirley of Hollywood
During the 1940's, Herman Schlobohm was selling notions and supplies to the bra and corset industry in the New York area. In 1948 he moved to California, starting National Corset Supply House, and bringing his services out west. In 1966 the company also started manufacturing lingerie, mostly sleepwear and panties. His son Jon joined the business in 1960 and Roy in 1961. In 1970 they purchased the name "Shirley of Hollywood" from its retiring founder, a long time customer. With Jon handling the administrative and financial, and Roy supervising the production and design, the business grew by leaps and bounds. In the 1980's, the third generation of Schlobohm's joined the company, with Dana Schlobohm-Walczuk taking on Design and Marketing, Eric Schlobohm Sales, Ron Schlobohm Domestic Production, and Kirk Schlobohm Quality Control and International Production
With a state of the art design department, top sewing facilities in the USA and abroad, using unique fabrications, laces and trims from over 200 resources, Shirley of Hollywood continues to grow and earned the respect of their peers. Employing many family groups, the average time of employment exceeds 15 years. With a combination of talent, energy and quick response, Shirley of Hollywood has captured that "something special".
